Bacon Mac N' Cheese Please...

Mac N' Cheese....A "Go To" COMFORT food...
Bacon Mac N' cheese is a MUST HAVE!
Mmmm Bacon, Bacon, BACON!
Yes, it's easy to grab the box (of your favorite brand) off the shelf and have a meal ready in minutes. BUT, you just can't beat homemade comfort food.
It takes about the same amount of time!
We love comfort food and we are watching our diet. This recipe fits our low carb diet without any sacrifice. But you can make it with regular pasta too!
 Bacon Mac N' Cheese
1 box of low carb (or regular pasta) about 13 ounces.
1 jar of cheddar cheese sauce/dip
5 slices of bacon cooked & crumbled
2 1/2 or 3 cups of shredded cheddar cheese, reserve 3/4 cup for layering
Butter, 1/2 cup
Heavy whipping cream, 1/2 cup
Panko crumbs, 1/2 cup
Garlic Pepper to taste, optional
Water for boiling noodles with a tablespoon of olive oil in the water
While cooking pasta in water with the added olive oil...
Bake or fry the bacon till done for crumbles
Drain the pasta. While the pasta is draining, add the butter to the pot and melt. Add the cheddar cheese sauce and whipping cream, blend well.
Then add the pasta, stirring and mixing.
Fold in the grated cheese, reserving 3/4 cup of cheese - set aside.
Blend well and place in a prepared baking dish. Set oven on 350 degrees.
Sprinkle the Panko across the top of the mac n' cheese. Season if desired with garlic pepper. Sprinkle with HALF of the remaining grated cheese.

Add a layer of crumbled bacon.
Sprinkle the remaining half of the cheese over the top.
And bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes.
Yum...Look at that bubbling cheese & bacon!!!
Mmmm, that's some mighty fine COMFORT food!
