Boil or Bake Your Eggs...
That is the question :)
I was curious to see if there was any difference between boil vs. bake.
Since I needed to make some deviled eggs...I thought I would try both ways!
The Baked Eggs:
Preheat the oven to 325-350 degrees
Place your eggs into a muffin tin to bake.
**My oven runs hot...so I went with 325 degrees.
Bake for 30 minutes
A strange sight...so use to having a pot boiling!
IF You SEE SPOTS, BROWN SPOTS....on your Eggs...IT'S OKAY!
They don't mean a thing...No Worries!
After 30 minutes, remove from the oven.....
**On a side note;...It was kinda nice to not worry about a boiling pot on the stove. YES, the baked eggs take 10 minutes longer....But ,NO boiling water to contend with afterwards!
Just set the timer and dust something or check your email. Whatever works! :))
As with the boiled eggs, follow with an ice bath to stop the eggs from cooking. Use your tongs to remove the eggs from the muffin tin and into the ice bath. Let soak 5-10 minutes
The baked are in the white dish, boiled in the red.
They look the same.
The ice bath: Pan=boiled, bowl=baked
I peel my eggs under water...the peels slid off both sets of eggs...
The egg on the left: baked, egg on the right: boiled.
I saw no difference. Both looked good!
AND....No difference in the taste! A win-win!!!
I kinda like the baking option! I will do them this way again.
See the Kitchen tip below....
I saw this idea on Pinterest.
Pour your salt into a canning jar, then...
Cut the top of cardboard salt container, leaving the spout in tack...
*I measured the salt top to the canning lid.
Place the newly cut salt lid inside the can's ring. Screw the top on the jar...
Now you have an easy pour spout/container for your kitchen.
This container is handy for all kinds of dry kitchen staples. Flour, Sugar, spices...So handy having a (pour) spout available!
Write your ingredient's name on the lid. Easy Peasy!
Keep YOUR Kitchen in Style...
