Rustic Fruit Pie...

I was strolling through the produce department and spotted some large juicy nectarines....Mmmm...
"Dessert Tonight"... I thought!
Rustic Fruit Pie
Nectarines, Blackberries....White chocolate chips....
This recipe was coming together!
1 package of pie crust (2 crusts)
4 nectarines, peeled and sliced thin
1 package of blackberries, rinse and drain
1/2 cup of white chocolate chips, divided
1/2 cup macadamia nuts, chopped coarse & divided
Brown sugar, 2 tablespoons or 1 tablespoon of Splenda brown sugar
Cinnamon, 1/8 of a teaspoon
1/4 cup of sugar or use 1/4 cup of Stevia
1 tablespoon of caramel , *I used sugar free
1-2 tablespoons of butter
**1 egg & a scant of water, blend together for an egg wash.
Yields two pies...
Bake at 425 degrees until crust is done...10-15+ minutes
(Times will vary, cook till done, as desired)
Cover crust with foil if browning too fast.
Cool for 20+ minutes and serve...
**Garnish with ice cream or whip cream if desired
Lightly roll out pie crust with a little flour...
Mix spices, sugars and fruit together...
 Mixed and ready....
Place the fruit on top of the prepared crust (on a greased baking sheet), dot with butter...
Sprinkle 1/4 cup of nuts and 1/4 cup of white chocolate chips on top of the fruit mixture. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of caramel, across the fruit.
Start folding the sides of the crust over the edges of the fruit.
Rustic pie is an open faced pie. Brush the pastry with and egg wash (1 egg scrambled, scant of water). *After egg wash has been used on the crust, discard the remaining liquid.
Brushed with egg wash, sprinkled with Sugar Crystals...
Ready to bake...
 Oh my....Rustic Pie....It smells Delish!
Yum....this dessert was gone in a heartbeat!
**Hint...
When transferring the pie from the pan to the plate...make sure it has cooled so the crust doesn't break...I used a wide spatula, such as a fish spatula, to help remove the pie from the pan....You may also use a pie pan or the bottom of a prepared cheese cake pan to support the bottom crust.
OR..heehee, if it breaks...SAVE the Day: crumble into large pieces and serve as a cobbler! Works every Time! :) No one will know except you and me!
**(I do this on purpose sometimes to give left overs a new look! And dollop of ice cream or whip cream with nuts on top!)
Ta-Da!!!
Took some to Dice Night with the Girls! Added some semi homemade ice cream topped with a blackberry!
It went great with Red Wine...
Of course, pretty much...Anything goes with WINE!
Just saying....
Enjoy with Style & Taste...
