Gourmet Style SOS...

Gourmet Style SOS...
Yup, that's what I said, "SOS...Gourmet Style"!
I will assume that everyone knows or has an idea of what SOS stands for...
The old stand by comfort food made at the end of the month for the sake of saving every last dime till payday! Yup...SOS ...S#$% on a Shingle, but for the sake of the blog and everyone concerned... it is known as...
STEAK on a SHINGLE at Pine Creek Style.
Just in case you have never heard of SOS.... It is traditionally a piece of bread and a brown gravy based mixture of green beans, grilled onions and beef (usually left over meat, ground beef, chip beef, steak or even canned beef) poured over the top of the bread. That's it!
My family loves it! Surprisingly, it is one of our son's favorite meals. Even though...he ate it often growing up!
Since Turkey Day is past.... EAT BEEF!
Haha, I'm just a little partial since we raise BEEF!
 BEEF...It's What's for Dinner...Ok-Ok....
Anyhoo...A fast and simple dinner while thoughts of Sugar Plums dance through your head...An easy meal to prepare while getting ready for the holidays!
 SOS Gourmet Style
Beef....I used a pound of meat- left over Prime Rib (MY FAV), sliced small
2 cans of Green beans, french cut style, use the bean juice to make the gravy
2 packets of beef gravy, I used Knorrs...again my FAV
1 medium onion, chopped and grilled in 1 tablespoon of butter
Bread.... 1 slice per serving....I used Dutch Crust French Bread grilled with garlic butter
French fried onions, optional for garnish

Make your gravy. add the meat, beans and onions...pour over the top of the bread
Dig in! YUM!!!
Saute onions in butter...add garlic pepper if you wish.....
Packaged gravy..I used the green bean water and added plain water to equal my measurements. It adds more flavor to the gravy. ;)
 Sliced, cooked Prime Rib....
After the gravy is ready, add the green beans to heat...
Then add the meat to heat....
Add the onion and stir & simmer...
Our bread was dutch Crust French Bread with Garlic butter and grilled...slice into serving sizes. Serve the bread on a plate with the gravy mixture on top!
Garnish with French Fried Onions
Wow...This is GOOD!!!
Serving SOS with Style...
