Our Special Ornament & Santa...

Every year we make a gift or ornament with the grandkids. They give these as gifts to their parents and other family members. One year we made an ornament with a nail (The "Christ Nail") along with a beautiful story. If you look at the tree, it is hidden near the trunk of the tree. It is the first ornament to be hung.
See a close-up picture and the story below.

Reason for the Season; The "Christ Nail" Ornament

Always Remember the Reason HE Came...
This is the Christ Nail, it is to be hung on a sturdy branch, a branch near the center of the tree trunk. A branch that will hold such a spike without being noticed by well wishers dropping by to admire one's tinseled tree!
The nail is known only to the home that hangs it!
Understood only by the heart that knows its significance.
In the spirit if Christmas, accept this gift for your Tree.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Santa has taken his place next to the tree!
I LOVE my Santa! We bought him many years ago when my oldest grand daughter was very small.
He is over five feet tall and quite heavy.
I LOVE his face! Too cute!
Funny Story:
When we first moved into this home, 6 years ago, the younger grandchildren were showing their Great-Grandfather our new home!
(My Dad has always had a great sense of humor.)
They were showing him the guest bathroom. My Dad reached for a closet door inside the powder room and said, "WHAT'S IN HERE?" He swung the door wide open, teasing the kids!  Unbeknownst to DAD (and the KIDS),...
"SANTA" looming was BEHIND the DOOR!
Poor Dad, he had no idea what had just happened! The kids SCREAMED and RAN away! THEN he realized a "LIFE-SIZE SANTA" had been behind the CLOSED DOOR! After the adults broke out in a hearty laughter, we gathered the kids. Convincing THEM that it was Nana's "PRETEND Santa" that was hiding in the closet.
