For the Love of Hurley...
"The Original Hurley Man"
We bought Dad an iPod for Father's Day...
He Love's IT!
Dear Family & Friends,
As you many of you know (my) Dad, Hurley has been sick for over 7 months. We now know what the culprit has been; Classic Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
I recently sent an email to several people answering a lot all of their questions. I don't have every one's emails, cell phones or telephone numbers, so if I missed emailing you, it was not intended.
I wanted a way to easily reach everyone at once. While looking at several websites that are intended for people with health issues, I did not find one that would suit every one's needs, yours & ours. That is why I decided to create a section on my blog for Dad. Several of you are already reading my blog. So, I thought this avenue would be the best road since it is already well traveled by many of you.
Hurley Update:
We met with the Oncologist on Friday (July 13th) for a consultation and scheduling of many tests, scans, labs etc.
We were really impressed with Dr. Figuroa and his Staff at the Solace Cancer Care Center. Everything was scheduled within a matter of minutes, very impressive! The next few weeks will be a whirlwind of appointments, through July 31.
These tests will be the key to our answers. At this point, they will determine the "stage of cancer. This will help the Dr. to decide Dad's specific cancer treatment and will set the plan of action for proceeding ahead. We meet with the Dr. on August 7th.
We do know that the cancer treatments will be aggressive Chemo Therapy and Dad will lose his hair....but, as Dad said:
"Hmmm, Maybe when my hair grows back it will be Red or Black and I will look 30 years younger!"
"Whoo-Hoo! Good for Dad!"
His spirits are good and he has a positive attitude.
He has a wonderful sense of humor, one of the things I LOVE most about him!
We LOVE all of the prayers, well wishes and the prayer chains. We are so GRATEFUL to our many friends and family who have been expressing their love and concern.
We THANK each and every one of you for all that you have done so far...
We hope this will help keep ALL of you informed on Dad's updates.
