Mother's Day Gift....

This is a beautiful and simple Mothers Day gift that was very much appreciated. Mama D recently moved into a little cottage, at baby sister's house near the River Ranch! Mom has been busy planting flowers and making things pretty! I thought this simplegift idea would be perfect by her back door!
Simple and Quick Garden Idea: One large pot , 2 bags of sand, one tall post (treated for water rot & painted), two hooks and two hanging plants! And a few rocks on top to cover the sand! Easy Peasy... & Beautiful!!!!
Love how it turned out! You could easily add an address number too!
I made the post look old with paint and stain!
 Lover her back door entrance......
 She loves it too!
Simple to put together in minutes!
 LOVE IT!
Happy Mother's Day Mama D from Ornery & NeeCee...Love you! Photo: Mama D on the right, Ornery on the left...Dad, brother Button, Sister aka "Mama Dawn" & Baby sis (below), Nanny!

Perfect for the Holidays & such an easy appetizer to fix. Packed full of flavor,  this will be a "go to" recipe. In fact, you may even want to grab a spoon and eat it like soup! It's that yummy!

  • 2 cups of grated cheddar cheese

  • 1/2 level teaspoon of red pepper, or less according to your taste
  • 1 small cooked onion, chopped fine and grilled in 1 tablespoon of butter
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1 tablespoon of prepared garlic paste
  • 1 can of chopped green chills, mild, drained but not dry...leave a little juice for the dip
  • 1 tablespoon of prepared red pepper, chunky paste (in a *tube in the fresh veggie section) or a small jar of pimentos, drained
  • 1 tablespoon of prepared Cilantro paste ,*tube
  1. Directions:Place all ingredients into a medium to large crock pot
  2. Cook on medium for 2 hours, or high for 1 hour. Stirring every so often to mix and blend

  4. And it's ready to serve...just add a serving spoon, reduce to simmer, leave in the crock pot to keep the Queso slightly warm...Serve with Kettle chips, Corn chips or Tortilla chips.

Make Easter Morning Easy...

If you have plans to cook a big meal Easter Sunday...Don't make things hard on yourself. Set up a Breakfast Bar ...let THEM serve themselves!...
Just set up a variety of cereals, candy sprinkles, milk, whip cream and,...a variety of fruit! Let them fix the breakfast their way! You may also chose to have a variety of juices and coffee's ready to self serve!
Our grandchildren love building their breakfast sundae's!
Have some waffle cones ready too...easy to fill.  Who does't want to eat something that looks & tastes like dessert? I use paper bowls & plastic silverware too! I will have a big enough chore after dinner. I don't need a bigger mess to clean! And the guests don't seem to mind! They're too busy fixing their sundae's.
These are so fun to fill up...and NO paper plates need to be used! Easy Peasy....
 Yum & Fun...for the Tum!
Make your Easter Morning a breeze to clean up....Kids of all ages LOVE this idea!

July 4th TableScape...

Happy 4th of July...
TableScape
I hope everyone has a Happy & Safe 4th of July!
I use jars for my drinking glasses and filled them with Red, White & Blue plastic silverware, Stars & Stripes napkins and Striped Retro-Paper Straws.
I have used the Milk bottles for other Tablescapes in the past....
So "Retro Traditional"!
I found these plates at a local store....M &M's Bits & Piece's...
they are too cute.....
They may be used for any of the Red, White & Blue Holidays!
I also used small Bubble's jars for my name plates....
The kids love the bubbles!
We bought the cute signs at JoAnne's for 70% off...
Whoo-Hoo for the Red, White & Blue!
The colorful star confetti throughout the table looks like fireworks going off! AND... they help blend in the colorful bubbles bottles around the table!
The friends who have seen the Table LOVED the bright Colors mixed with the red, white & blue.
Very Festive....

My Easter Chicks Laid Eggs TableScape/Decor

My Easter Chicks laid Eggs this year! I wanted to use something other than ALL bunnies in my kitchen this year for Easter...
As many of you know...I have chickens & roosters in my Kitchen year round!
*(Much to my Cattlemen Husband's dismay! Heehee)
My Grandparents & Great-Grandparents had a chicken ranch & farmed. They (my chickens) do remind me of the fun we would have at the ranch as kids.
*(Shhh...Hubby says the word RANCH & CHICKENS shouldn't be in the same sentence! A True COW MAN!).
We kids loved to gather eggs in the hen house and help with....WELL..."processing" the chickens for DINNER!!!
"The plucking was NOT so much fun!"
BUT I digressed... BACK to the post....
Chargers at the head's of the table
 Our Easter TableScape...
He's HAPPY being the center of attention!

I love the faux eggs in the ceramic egg crates

Just what I wanted this year!

 He's still proud! :)
I added a few white bunnies here & there
This bunny is on the right side of the china hutch...
This bunny is on the left side china hutch
This wire bunny is placed in front of our kitchen fireplace
My Chicks & their Rooster on the kitchen fireplace mantel
AND, Last BUT not least...My Large White Bunny playing in the Garden Patch on top of my Kitchen bar.
Have a Wonderful Easter Season full of Family, Friends & Style...
