A Dainty Vanity...

(This Item is a re-post  due to several requests~xo, NeeCee)

A Dainty Vanity....

This little vanity was found at our local Salvation Army store....The price,
(I felt), was a little high....SO I waited....and waited....AND then....
DISCOUNTED, Marked down...LUCKY DAY for ME!
With the Mark down and My senior discount...
Ta-Dah...$25!
This little vanity is very sturdy, and in pretty good shape...
BUT the wood was not the best quality for a natural finish. Also the original
varnish was NOT applied very well and had lots of drips and runs....
Too cute not to be PRETTY!
Sweet details grace the front of the vanity & top of mirror.
YES, its PINK! But this is only the first coat...Wait till you see the finished
 product!
I used a thin first coat, letting some of the wood grain show through.
I also distressed the wood with sandpaper in several places.
I used Princess Pink from Valspar, bought at Lowe's. Then a Picking White
stain from Old Masters over the top....LOVED the finish!
I found the stain at a local paint store. It's a paste and I love working with
this stain!
This is the look the Pickling White stain provided to the vanity. Once again,
I distressed the vanity after the staining.
She turned out SOoooo Cute! I changed the knobs too!
The ones that were on the vanity really didn't match.
They were much newer than the vanity but they didn't look right!
I picked up the ceramic knobs at Lowe's....I love their look!
"Sweet & Dainty"
So pleased with her dainty & distressed details.
I decoupaged the inside of the drawer with several different hand
 torn papers.
Now we need to find the perfect chair or stool!
I have NO doubts I will find the perfect one!!!
Update: Mama Tara had the perfect chair...
Everything came together very nice!
"Whoo-Hoo"
I know my Granddaughter is going to love this vanity....
Her Mama LOVES it!
(Her Mama is Tara of Trendy Treehouse,
check out her BUTTON on my sidebar)
Update: Photo just added! The Vanity was waiting for Cass when she
got home from school.....Look at her SMILE! Melts a Nana's heart!!!
The Vanity is Just her Style....
