Vanity Redo for a Granddaughter...

This was the cutest little vanity, bought for $10 at a local thrift store....It needed some love and "Cass" needed a vanity! The vanity was missing the mirror and stand that belonged on the top/back of the desk. We opted to look for a mirror to hang on the wall. There were two holes on the top to attach the original mirror, instead of puttying the holes in, we placed some pretty chrystal knobs on top! Cass has decided to place her perfume bottles between the chrystal knobs! (What a great idea! ) When we get the desk set up in her newly designed bedroom. I will publish another picture of the final touches! Stay tuned for that....But for now, here are the before & after photos of the finished vanity!

Simply beautiful! We chose Sugar Cookie Cream paint  (2 coats) for the top and the drawer. Rose Petal Pink for the body & legs, (4 coats) . I used a satin finish  style paint, lightly distressed some of the edges & finished with a clear spray, satin finish. After the final coat dried over night, I lightly went over the clear coast with doubleOO steel pad to smooth the texture and wiped with a soft rag. Done!

The original drawer pull and the Before photo of the vanity. Everything was sanded lightly before I painted.
This was the desk/vanity top.
The finished vanity....
Work in process....
First coat of Rose Petal Pink paint....

Several coasts of paint later....ready to distress and put on the finished clear coat.
So happy with the Behr oderless paint...I did not use the one coat finish...The gallon paint of Rose Petal Pink was bought on the oops table for $5.oo!!!! I had the Sugar Cookie Cream paint on hand....It was a Benjamin Moore satin, odorless paint, which I also LOVE! Cass & I found the chrystal knobs at Home Depot....The knobs were about $3.00 apiece and the Knobs on the top, I have had on hand for quite a while...just waiting in my junk drawer for a project. So the total out of pocket for this vanity was less than $20!
So pleased with the final outcome....Can't wait to take it to Cass tomorrow!!!!
