Knots Of Love Necklace....

My latest Necklace..." Knots of Love" is crocheted with brown cotton #20 thread with bronze & turquisoe glass beads, silver beads and assorted turqouise pieces! A gift for my daughter....She Loves it!
 The finished product....5 Strands total
Close up details, above & below....
 Recipe for Knots of Love...
Designed by the CattleQueen at PineCreekStyle

Supplies:

  • 1 small size G crochet hook
  • Brown crochet thread #20 weight
  • Beading Needle
  • Approximately 200- assorted beads: I used Bronze & Turquoise glass beads, Assorted silver beads & assorted turquoise chunks.

Directions:

  1. For the first strand, load 90 assorted beads onto the thread with your beading needle. Choose you pattern as you wish....
  2. Leave a 6-8 inch lead, then chain....Crochet 6 to eight single crochets creating a chain
  3. Next, start by crocheting a bead into the next single crochet, then do 3 single crochets, repeat until all beads are worked into the chain.
  4. Finish,  by doing 6 single crochets, knotting off the end. Leaving 6-8 inches of string on the end.
  5. Set aside for assembly later
  6. The Second strand will use 80 beads, it is worked the same as the first strand...set aside when done for assembly later
  7. The third strand is all turquoise chunks, choose the amount you wish...I used 7 chunks
  8. I doubled the thread measuring 35 inches in length (70 doubled)....then I added turquoise chunks every so often with tying a double knot on either side of the turquoise chunk to hold in place. Repeat until the strand is finished. Make sure to leave some string on each end to assemble with.
Assembly:

If you have a dress form or a necklace form....This may help when you assemble the necklace...This will hold the necklace in position while you work.
  • With the first stand, tie the ends together, then double the strand and tie together again. Set aside
  • Do the same with the second strand. Set aside
  • Now, tie the two strands together, forming a 4 strand layered necklace
  • Next, tie the single strand together and then position and tie the third strand on to the four strand piece
  • You now have a 5 strand necklace!
  • With the strings you used to connect the strands..You may finish off by knotting &  cutting or add a few beads to the back that hang slightly for a completely finished look

Cowgirl BoHo Crocheted Necklace...

This Cowgirl BoHo Crocheted Necklace turned out so cute....My dear friend Mary loved her birthday gift! Pictures & directions are included below....
I had seen some crocheted necklaces on Pinterest....Since I know how to crochet and this was a simple chain stitch....I figured this was going be easy and fun! It was.....
I added the coins as an after thought...so I tied them on individually. Love the look!
 Here is a close up...
this is the back closer....with a couple of stones slightly dangling down.
Here the necklace is in progress.....loved how it came together
This is the two ends...waiting for the clouser...
And the finishing touch, binding it closed!

Cowgirl BoHo Crochted Necklace

Items needed:

  • Crochet thread, #10, brown
  • Beading Needle
  • Crochet hook, size 2.75 or a little larger
  • Assorted beads, about 90-96 small beads, assorted sizes & colors
Directions:

  1. Leave about 10 inches of thread, unworked
  2. String on the beads using the beading needle
  3. Chain 5-6 chains of thread...stop and tie a single knot on the start od the chain, leaving a long (10") tail of thread on the end...
  4. On the next chain crochet, include one bead in the chain, chain 3 to 4 more single chains
  5. Repeat step #4 until all beads are included in the crocheted chain.
  6. After the last bead is included, chain 5-6 chains (see step #3)...
  7. Thread the two finished ends through a bead ( I used a flat one) and finish off by tying in a double knot. leave the long strands...next....
  8. Double the necklace, making it a two strand necklace. Taking the long, end strands, tie the pieces together, close to the closure/ending. Add a single bead to each ending and tie off in a knot.
  9. Trim the extra strands off. Necklace is finished
Note: I added dilled coins to the finished piece, as an after thought....to add a little gypsy look to the piece. I just hand tied these on with simple knots and left a few raw edges of the string, lending a casual boho look.
My dear friend Mary, LOVED her new necklace! Now, I need one!....Off to make another....

Turquiose Cross Necklace..."Go Big or Go Home Cowgirl"

I had seen a necklace I liked in a catalog....Large stones & a large pendant....very long & simple. It looked stunning on a mono chromatic outfit....My eye caught the necklace not the outfit for sale...
So, with the stones I had on hand and a simplistic, yet large turquoise cross...I created my style of the necklace! LOVE it! Please, Share with Style and Pin on Pinterest....

One of our 7 granddaughters was recently recruited to play on a travel basketball team. Fundraisers are often crucial to the financial success of Sports Clubs.  HayBug need to contribute something to the fundraiser....So Nana's phone rang!!! LOL.... At least she likes her Granny's Jewelry Designs!

Any way...Here are the two latest jewelry designs....
A vintage Sugar Spoon was the backdrop of the necklace, a faux heart shade clock and a pearl don the necklace. The earrings were made to mated. A New look with some vintage style.
The second set included Brass findings & Pearls...Simplistic & Timeless Style....

Adding Embellishments to a Summer Dress...

A friend ask me about making a pair of earrings to match a new favorite summer dress.
Of course I said YES!
But...YA know me...
There had to be some BLING!  NOT just earrings....
I had to add JUST a little bit more BLING to the ensemble!
I LOVE the results...AND so did she!
This is the Dress my friend bought!
Too cute!
She wanted matching earrings. The yellow is more like a chartreuse yellow meaning a yellowish green. Hard to match!
BUT, I found an easy solution.
This is a close up of the original neckline. I wanted to add crystal beads in a pale yellow to bling-up the neckline.
I added pale yellow crystals on either side of the turquoise colored beads. Then I made a removable jewelry fob of Yellow Swarovski Crystals & Turquoise to hang on the "V" of the neckline. I used a necklace lobster claw for the jewelry fob and attached it to the base of the neckline.
This made the neckline look like a necklace!
A simple embellishment made a beautiful difference!
I then made a pair of earrings and a bracelet to match.
My Friend LOVED the enhanced neckline of the dress and...
The jewelry to match!

Bejeweled Mother's Day Gifts...

Bejeweled for Mother's Day...
For Mother's Day I made some very special gifts. Years ago, I had saved some broken necklaces that belonged to my husbands paternal grandmother. Recently I pulled them out and made new necklaces for my sister-in-laws. I even had some left over to myself a necklace.
I used vintage pieces of turquoise, crystals & other beads that Grandma had from several broken necklaces.
This one is similar to the one above but slightly longer.
I knew the girls were going to LOVE these gifts! I was secretly hoping I would have a few beads left over for a necklace of my own!
Here are the two necklaces together.....
The GIRLS LOVED their gift! YES, they received them as early Mother's day gifts. I was so happy they LOVED their refashioned necklaces.
I'm glad I was able to give them a very special gift this year!
I did have a few left over beads (crystal & glass beads). So I added several new beads and turquoise to make one for myself! Mine is a newer style necklace...Not really a vintage look...but that's okay 'cause I know which beads are Grandma's....AND that makes it special!
Grandma would have shook her head in disbelieve at these new necklaces....The old ones were badly broken!
"What was OLD is NEW again!"
Treasured memories live again...
I LOVE how my necklace turned out!
A while back my daughter and I were trolling the thrift stores....
We found a box of old silverware for sale....
I love spoon jewelry...so I wanted to try making a few pieces.
This is not a very good photo....but here it is anyway....
This is the base of a spoon with a jewelry charm attached.
Crystal green beads, green turquoise with silver accents.
This one is for my Mom...SHhhh....don't tell her!
It's not wrapped yet!
Buffalo Turquoise with fresh water pearls & silver accents!
The charm on this one can be removed & replaced with a different charm!
A variety of colors and styles....
This one is Pink with fresh water pearls & silver accents!
 Orange with crystals and silver.
I just made a few to get the post done...tomorrow I make more.....Tara at Trendy Treehouse will carry these in her online store starting next week! YEAH!
I hope you'll have a wonderful Mother's Day......
Have a Wonderful Mother's Day full of Style...
