Just Plain Old Bread Pudding...

Our family loves the ultimate comfort food; bread pudding. It is always expected to be on the menu for the holiday's.
Or, whenever the grand kids put in a special request.
(Who could refuse such cute kids with questioning lips and sad puppy-dog eyes? They know that look always melts Nonny's heart!)
Just Plain Old Bread Pudding
* A cute note:
One morning, our 3 year old daughter was eating bread pudding for breakfast.  A neighborhood had stopped in for a morning cup of coffee.
Her daughter asked my daughter, "Watch ya eating?".
Sissie replied; " Just plain old bread pudding!"
"AND... that's how we named my bread pudding!"
  "Our daughter...Tara aka Sissie"...

Sadly my hubby doesn't appreciate bread (or rice) pudding the way I do so I almost never make it. You just made me realize I need to start my daughters on it now while they are young so I will have at least two good excuses to make it. :-) Thanks again for sharing your family recipe.

That would be a wonderful tradition to share with your daughters! My grandchildren love making this recipe. At first, they weren't sure about how it looked before cooking...but when the aroma began drifting out of the the oven....they changed there minds! I told them it tasted like the best french toast they ever had and they didn't have to cut it! They LOVE making this treat together...you are never to young to eat bread pudding! The girls will love to help Mommie in the kitchen! (Boys too!) Who knows, your hubby may not be able to resist at least a bite! :) Happy Thanksgiving, NeeCee

I was inspired by your post and made the bread pudding! Last minute my hubby got some time off and we were able to spend Thanksgiving with family but, since it was so last minute I didnt have anything to contribute to the meal. :-( Well, the next morning I made bread pudding out of the left over rolls and everyone LOVED it! I'm thinking day after Thanksgiving bread pudding breakfast might have to become a tradition. A great way to use up leftovers and it's delicious! Thanks
