Summer Storm...Wow!?!...

This is the 1st week of June...just days before it had been 100 degrees! Not your NORMAL June day in Northern California! Moments before it has been a beautiful sunny & warm day. We knew from the forecast there COULD be rain. BUT, this time of year it's usually not much of a BIG deal.

This was quite a storm! We had never seen it storm like this in JUNE! The Sky was Sunny one minute and dark the next. AND it kept flipping back and forth, dark & light....like GOD was playing with a light switch! Kinda weird!!!!

First it turned very DARK & stormy! Then it began to pour down rain and the Sun came out!

Another BLACK cloud covered the sky above our house. The blue skies beyond were beautiful. Hmmm, might not last too long! Strange storm though!

Then the rumbling & clapping started. It was LOUD, really LOUD! The sound could deafen you, yet the world seemed eerily quiet. This was a special and very different storm. The lights flickered! The TV signal was lost.

The weather Commanded OUR ATTENTION!

AND then....the HAIL came!

The water is now running down the road like a river. THIS...

is in just a matter of moments!

The sky is now BLACK...all around us!!!

The flower beds are now overflowing....ALMOST 3 inches of rain in a very short amount of time (the rain gauge, in the photos is filling up!).

WOW!!!

A beautiful rainbow suddenly appears just across the river,

the sun starts to come out.

A double rainbow now appears...I am wishing my camera could catch the true beauty this rainbow holds.

Suddenly, thunder & lightening returns....The storm is not FINISHED!

Amazing! Amazing to watch & amazing to see.

The sun is BACK!

Oh My Gosh, B-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l...

Then hubby notices the double rainbow has exposed its WHOLE length!

As hard as I tried, I couldn't capture it all in the camera...... Notice the background as the blue (sky) attempts to take back the entire sky.

The light and darkness fight for control...

The ends of the double rainbow seem to rest a top of two barns.
All of this in a matter of 20-30 minutes!
A Beautiful display of God's Power & Style...

On a side note... we have recently lost a loved one.
After this beautiful display, I'd like to think he (our loved one) made it through Heaven's Gate's with Grace & Style.

Freedom of Flight...

To All that Fly

May God grant you blue skies aloft,

With winds of calm by land,

As you play on the outskirts of Heaven,

On the fragile wings of man.

Our nephew had told me; "Next time I'm UP, I'll fly by...". I had told him to let me know the next time he flew by, I wanted to have the camera ready!

So friday afternoon...I got a text! "Be there in 10 minutes for a fly by!"

I grabbed the camera and ran to the balcony!

He came from the North about 4:50 pm.

That's our nephew front and center.

And South they went! A quick trip down the river and then headed towards town.

Awesome!!! This Auntie was happy, and I got some great photos!

So, I went in the house and down loaded the pictures. Thinking I was all done, I sent the pictures to his Mom and a few others. BUT THEN, another text....

"Headed back for a better picture"!

YEAH....Grabbed the camera, almost forgetting the photo disk, and RAN to the balcony.....HE WAS HERE!

Snap, Snap, Snap.....It was nonstop! Got even better photos. Whoo-Hoo.

I was snapping so fast, I couldn't even wave!

In a quick turn, they were off to the North again.

AWESOME!!!

The Planets were Aligned....

Coming home from dinner Saturday night we noticed an alignment of the planets. It was a beautiful, clear dark night. The planets shone brightly as they aligned with the moon. The stars were bright. BEAUTIFUL! So after arriving at home, I grabbed the camera. Then I grabbed the Ipad! The app; Starwalk is amazing. We love to hold it towards the sky and have everything labeled and confirmed with what we just witnessed. Below is what we viewed. Enjoy....

Sunrise on the River...

The sunrise this morning was AMAZING to say the least!

I love the fire-like color reflecting upon the water. Look to the bottom left of the photo, you will see the blue water through the trees.

This was the start of the sunrise...

Early rising not only gives us more life in the same number of years, but adds, likewise, to their number; and not only enables us to enjoy more of existence in the same time, but increases also the measure...
